We’re ready to fight bandits in Niger – Police

The commissioner of police in Niger state, Monday Kuryas has said the police are ready to fight banditry, terrorism, and other forms of insecurity in Niger state.

Mr. Kuryas on Monday assured that all security measures had been put in place to ensure that there’s security during the Yuletide season and also ask the residence to support security operatives in fighting corruption.

“We are battle-ready to confront any person or group of people undermining the peaceful nature for which Niger state is known,” he said.

He further explained that the police command had reached out to the traditional and religious leaders to assist in giving them reliable information regarding the bandits and said that with their help, the police will be able to fight insurgency in the state.

“I want to assure the people of Niger state that the command has no room for kidnap, abduction, and robbery; those perpetrating these acts should desist,” stated Mr. Kuryas. “All we want from the public is cooperation and willingness to volunteer information on the movement of criminal elements.”
