Guru Maharaj ji asks govt to increase army, police salaries with funding from oil

The founder of the One Love Family, Guru Maharaj ji, has defended the military and police.

He called for more increase in Police salaries from the recently approved 20 percent increase by the FEC.

A statement on Sunday quoted Maharaj ji to have said this while speaking to journalists in Lagos ahead of his birthday celebration.

He also called for a 40 percent increase in the salaries of the Nigerian Army stating the increase in remuneration could be funded with an oil well.

Maraj ji called on the President, Major Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to pay all outstanding arrears of university lecturers, doctors, and others.

He was quoted as saying, “The recent 20% increase in Police earnings is not enough, it should be forty percent. The Nigerian Army too should be considered for a 40% increase in their salaries. Use one oil well to cover it.

“The President should also pay all outstanding arrears due to ASUU, Medical Doctors, Polytechnic Staff in all the federation.”
