‘Justice has not been delivered’ – Ijaw Youths vow to occupy Dowen College if school is reopened
Members of Ijaw Youth Lagos chapter have vowed to occupy Dowen College if the Lagos State government reopens the school.
Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old student of the school, allegedly died from injuries incurred from assault and harassment by his seniors in the boarding house.
Five students implicated in the incident were arrested but later released and freed by the Lagos State government who claimed no evidence could be established against them.
But on Thursday, Ijaw Youth gathered at the school gate to express their anger and displeasure.
”We are here today to express our anger and grievances with the fake and corrupt report released by the Lagos state Director of the Department of Public Prosecution that this school where cultists are being trained and recruited, that the five people that killed our son without trial, without concluded investigation, they said they cleared this school to open.
If they open this school, the whole Ijaw nation will come to this school. Let them try us and see”
