Lagos govt. to close Dopemu road for 3 months
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Government said that traffic on Dopemu road in Agege area will be diverted for three months in other to work on Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road.
Frederick Oladeinde the Commissioner for Transportation said the diversion would start on Friday, January 21 from 10:00pm. Mr Oladeinde mentioned that Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would provide attentive routes to ensure effective control of movement during the repair.
The commissioner also said that motorist heading towards Dopemu Bridge from Iyana Ipaja/Alagba axis should go through ipaja road to connect Oyewole street to Seriki street, while those heading towards Dopemu Bridge from Ipaja (oke koto) are to use Markaz to connect Sarumi Alawo street/Oniwaya and Surulere.
“With this, they will continue their journey or alternately, go through Alfa Nla from Old Ipaja road to connect Oniwaya/Surulere axis to reach the Dopemu bridge,” he added.
“The alternative routes are in motorable conditions and will not pose any difficulty to motorists. We are also assuring that the LASTMA personnel will be at the diversion routes for efficient traffic management.”
He commended Lagosian for their perseverance over the myriad of construction and that their sacrifices will yield good result.
