Robbers Invade Home, Beat Landlord To Coma, Steal Car

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers who invaded the home of one Sanusi Hudu, beat him to coma, and made away with his car and other properties in Dutse Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, said the victim was found in a pool of blood and rushed to a hospital for treatment.

According to the PPRO, the suspect confessed to have sold the stolen vehicle at the rate of N500,000 to one Umar Abubakar, who is at large.

“On 19/07/2023 at about 0230hrs, a distress call was received at Dutse Division that, hoodlums with weapons, numbering about five, invaded the house of one Sunusi Hudu ‘m’ of G9 quarters Dutse LGA, beat him up to a state of coma and made away with valuable items such as; one motor vehicle Honda Accord 2011 model black in color, two (2) plasma television, one HP Laptop computer and one Redmi Note 11pro phone,” the PPRO stated.

“On receipt of the report, police operatives attached to Dutse Division immediately responded to the scene where Sanusi Hudu was found lying down in a pool of blood, he was rushed to the General Hospital Dutse for treatment. Later the case was transferred to SCID Dutse for discreet investigation

“Fortunately, on 18/10/2023, following a tip-off by the investigative team of SCID Dutse, one Umar Abubakar ‘m’ age 28yrs of Bompai Miller Road, Kano state, Yakubu Mohammed ‘m’ age 24yrs and Zakariyya Dahiru ‘m’ age 28yrs both of Yalleman town of Kaugama LGA, were trailed and arrested in connection with the crime

“On interrogation, the suspects confessed to have trespassed into the house of Hudu, beat him up and made away with his motor vehicle and other properties. The suspects also mentioned one Umar Abubakar alias Messi ‘m’ and one Hassan Kura who are now at large, as their accomplice.

“The suspects further confessed to have disposed the motor vehicle to one Umar Abubakar who is at large, at the rate of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000.00k) and the remaining stolen items to one Adamu Mohammed ‘m’ age 36yrs of Goron Dutse Kano state and one Lawan Salisu ‘m’ age 48yrs of U/Uku Kano state who were also arrested. All efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects are in top gear.

 The suspects arrested will be arraigned before the court to face the full weight of the law after a discreet investigation at SCID Dutse.”
