LCC to resume ticketing at Lekki toll gate 18 months after #EndSARS protest

The Lekki Concession Company (LCC) Limited has said it will resume cutting tickets at the Lekki toll gate. This is coming 18 months after the suspension of operations at the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge due to the shootings at peaceful #EndSARS protesters by the Nigerian army at the location.

About 20 people were shot at the toll gate, with many injured and others dead, during the #EndSARS protest of October 2020.

The Managing Director of the LCC, Yomi Omomuwasan, who announced the plan in a statement, said that tolling will commence on April 1, 2022, on the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge.

The LCC boss also announced that commuters plying the corridor will not be paying any toll for the first two weeks until 15th April 2022.
