In recent times, several security breaches in Imo have led to the destruction of public properties and houses of prominent individuals in the state.

Speaking with TheCable, James Njoku, a community source, said: “unidentified gunmen in the early hours of today burnt residence of Ohanaeze Ndigbo President, George Obiozor.

“This is happening barely four days after governor Hope Uzodinma claimed to have addressed Imo’s security challenges, the security situation in Imo state is getting out of hand.”

As at the time of filing this report, Michael Abattam, Imo state Police command spokesman, is yet to respond to a message sent to him.
