Less Than 72 Hours After Unknown Gunmen Attacked Aguata LG, Gov. Soludo Fights Back
Barely 72 hours after the deadly attack on Aguata Local government, the hometown of Governor of Anambra State, Charles Chukwuma Soludo by the unknown gunmen, the Governor has heavily clamped down on the invaders.
It was reported on Friday that the Local Government groaned under the heavyweight of attack by the notorious gunmen who have been terrorizing the axis for a while.
Several houses were said to have been burnt down while many residents reportedly flee for safety of their lives. By the time the governor visited the town, it had become a ghost of itself.
Realizing the level of destruction created by the hoodlums and the possibility of their return to terrorize the residents, Soludo constituted a joint task force comprised of Nigerian Army, and Navy with the mandate of restoring peace to the area and ensure the security of lives and properties.
On Saturday, it was reported that the task force ransacked Aguata/Orumba axis of the state and arrested several people in connection with the Friday’s attack.
The officers also visited the gunmen camp and recovered some items which include food items, stolen vehicles and charms.
A buldozer which was said to have been used to block the entrance to the camp by the criminal was set ablaze by the task force.
The criminals were said to have been behind the attack on Aguata Local Government headquarters and Nnewi South Local Government area of Anambra State.
