As the race for 2023 presidential election becomes more intense, aspirants from different political parties are working round the clock not only to be recognized as the most qualified hands for the job but also doing everything in their power to outrun one another.
One aspirant who believes he has the capacity and competence to step into the big shoe after president Muhammadu Buhari must have bowed out of office in 2023 is Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation Magazine.
The ace journalist cum politician who has already submitted his nomination form under the People’s Democratic Party spoke extensively on Tuesday while featuring on Channels TV Politics Today which was exclusively monitored by RovingNaija.
While responding to the question which bothered on his capacity to mobilize enough delegates to win the party primary and subsequently contest and win the general election in 2023, Dele Momodu explained that there is no anyone either in APC or PDP that is more qualified than him.
He recalled a recent scenario where a friend called to ask him if he saw the mammoth crowd put together by Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello at the Eagles Square in Abuja to declare his intention for president.
Momodu said he told the fellow that he does not belong to the category of Yahaya Bello in the scheme of Politics. He noted that Bello was born in the year he was to sit for his School Certificate Examination.
According to him, Bello is a sitting Governor and can mobilize his state resources to organize jamboree in the name of declaring for president.
But he claimed that he is better prepared and more experienced than Bello for the task ahead. He however ruled out any form of comparison between him and the Kogi governor.
