2 Scary Statements Unknown Gunmen Made After Killing 2 INEC Staffs At PVC Collection Centre In Imo

For the people of Imo State, 2023 elections are gradually becoming a mirage rather than an exercise to anxiously wait for and use as an opportunity to re-write their political history.

This was vivdly explained on Thursday at the PVC collection centre in Ihite local government area of the state where unknown gunmen invaded and killed not less than two INEC staffs.

Unfortunately, the hoodlums came at a time when many voters came to the centre to either collect their PVC or register for the cards.

The gunmen invaded the venue threatening and asking the people to lie face down. They shot sporadically into the air as they damaged some properties within the facility.

However, before shooting the two INEC staff, the gunmen in a video recorded by one of them at the venue, made two critical statements that should call for concern.

The first thing they said was that there won’t be election in the state in 2023. They claimed that they have already warned the people but they would not listen.

The second thing was that whoever tries to undermine their instructions and dare to come and vote on election day will pay for it with his or her life.

They asked their captives if they thought they were joking. Before leaving, they ensure they carried a bag of PVCs that are ready for collection and told them that this is their PVC, and they will never see them again.

All these activities were recorded in a short video that has gone viral since Friday.

With this development, the government needs to be aware that activities of unknown gunmen in the South East is still far from over. They should do more than what they are currently doing if they really want election to hold in the state in 2023.
