Tinubu Taunts Amaechi, Says He Is Not In Presidential Race To Become A Wrestler

For the second time, APC Presidential aspirant and former governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu has reiterated what Nigerians should expect and what they should not expect from him in his race to Aso Rock.

The APC national leader recently told a crowd of youths in Lagos that he is not in the race to become a wrestler.

The statement was in response to those who believe that he is not physically fit enought to withstand the rigours of presidential contest in Nigeria.

To make the matter worse, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi while declaring his interest to vie for the party ticket a week ago, ran across the stadium in Port Harcout. Many Nigerians were of the opinion that his action was a way of showing that he is physically fit for the position he is running for.

Amaechi’s action was also seen as a way of mocking Tinubu who is widely rumoured to be medically unfit for what he is getting himself into.

Responding to the insinuation of his fitness, the former governor of Lagos said he is not bothered about someone who had to run around the stadium before declaring his interest to contest. He noted that he is not in the race to become a wrestler.

He stated this while addressing a horde of youth who organized a rally for him at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on Saturday.

This was the second time the APC chieftain would reiterate his physical capacity to govern the country.

During his visit to traditional rulers in Oshogbo some weeks ago, Tinubu mocked those asking him if he is physically fit for the office he is running for, saying being a president is not about digging the ground or doing a bricklayer’s work.

He said he is mentally fit to be the president of Nigeria.
