Not less than 10 famers have been reportedly killed in another attack by herdsmen in Kwande Local Governemnt Area of Benue State.
The attack is coming a few days after the previous one by the same criminal elements which left several people dead.
According to sources in the community, it was gathered that the attack took place on Thursday night in Waya, Jato-Aka, Turan.
A member of the community, Lawrence Akerigba, disclossed that about ten corpses of victims of the attack have been recovered so far and their corpses have been deposited at the Jato-Aka mortuary.
He identified those killed as: Gbaeren Orsoo, Terdoo Tsega, Bemdoo Tsega, Abacha Tsega, Terkaa Tsega, Aôndoaseer Tyov, Iorhen Atim and Aôndowase Igba.
Chairperson of Kwande Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Tartor Chianson, confirmed the incident.
She confirmed recovery of eight bodies,which have been deposited at the mortuary.
She said it was difficult to determine the exact casualties yet as the area was under siege.
She however informed that men of Operation Whilestroke and Civil Defence were assisting in securing the community.
Benue Police spokesperson , SP Anene Catherine Sewuese, was yet to respond to calls or text messages on the incident.
