What Bisi Akande Said After Tinubu, Osinbajo, Other Aspirants Meet With S/West Leaders

It is a season of closed door meetings, consultations and dialogue among political gladiators across the country.

On Friday, the two leading presidential aspirants under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu and Professor Yemi Osinbajo joined other presidential hopefuls in a meeting with political leaders from the South West.

The meeting which was held in Lagos was said to have been facilitated by the first chairman of the ruling party and former governor of Osun state, Chief Bisi Akande and Chief Segun Osoba, former governor of Ogun State.

The gathering also became a veritable platform for Osinbajo and his erstwhile political godfather to have a physical meeting since the vice president declared his interest to run for the president.

According to an inside source, “the issue of betrayal was put to rest as the elders affirmed that everyone who desires to run for any political office whatsoever is not encumbered in any way at all.” The leaders and the aspirants all agreed to conduct a rancour free campaign.

After the meeting which was strictly held behind a close door, Akade told the press that all aspirants in the southwest are united. He noted that there is no any form of division whatsoever among them.

Present at the meeting were the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, former Lagos State Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi.

Also at the meeting, apart from the aspirants were the former Governor of Lagos State and Works and Housing Minister Mr. Babatunde Fashola, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief Niyi Adebayo, Governors Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state and Governor Oyetola of Osun state. Others included former Osun State Governor and Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola and the APC National Secretary Otunba Iyiola Omisore.
