Joe Igbokwe attacks Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyers
Lawyers of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), have been slammed for posting a picture on socila media celebrating a court decision.
Joe Igbokwe, Special Adviser on Drainage and Water Resources to Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, criticised the lawyers for being insensive and careless to the many killings happening in the east.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that after Kanu’s trial on Wednesday where the Federal High Court, Abuja, withdrew the newly-amended charges against the separatist leader, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, IPOB’s lead counsel, posted pictures of the detained activist’s legal team in ecstatic mood on his verified Facebook page.
This did not go down well with Anambra-born Igbokwe, who felt Kanu’s lawyers were being insensitive to the horror ongoing in the southeast, which has been linked to IPOB.
“South east is in a mess, people are being killed, businesses in ruins and we are here celebrating mediocrity and smiling away our collective shame. We will receive sense by force,” Igbokwe, a former spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, wrote on his known Facebook page.
