Abducted Lawmaker Who Represented Soludo’s Constituency In State Assembly Beheaded

Barely a week after Dr. Okechukwu Okoye was kidnapped by unknown gunmen, his decapitated head has been discovered.

Dr. Okoye who was kidnapped on May 15, was the lawmaker who represented Aguata North constituency in the Anambra state assembly, the same constituency with that of the state governor, Professor Charles Soludo.

According to reports, the lawmaker was abducted in his Lexus Jeep vehicle within his constituency.

It was gathered that his head was mounted at the Chisco park in Amichi community, in Anambra State.

This development is coming a few days after Soludo confirmed his kidnap, stating that efforts were being made to rescue the lawmaker.

“I regret, however, that one of you, the member representing the good people of Aguata II Constituency in the House of Assembly, my own representative, Hon. Okechukwu Okoye is still in the custody of the kidnappers,” the governor had said.

“The security agencies are working very hard and around the clock to secure his freedom. God is on the throne and Anambra will win. Let me leave it at that.”

There has been a spate of violence in the state, including attacks on security agencies and government facilities.
