Festus Keyamo Mocks Obidients Who Protested At Washington DC Over Alleged Stolen Mandate
The chief Spokesperson of the All Progressive Congress presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo has reacted to the protest staged by loyalists of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi in Washington DC, United States.
The protest, which was organised by the Obidients in diaspora was aimed at drawing the US government’s attention to what they described as fraudulent declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president-elect of Nigeria in the just concluded presidential election.
Tinubu was announced winner of the controversial Election by the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu despite calls by well-meaning Nigerians to look into some of the controversies that marred the process.
Since the announcement of the former governor of Lagos as President-Elect, it has been a rash of protests across the country. Even members of the victorious ruling party have been having sleepless nights to defend their mandate by constantly embarking on pro-Tinubu rallies.
On Monday, the anti-Tinubu protest organised by loyalists of Peter Obi was held in the US with protesters displaying banners with different inscriptions on them.
Reacting to the development, the Minister of Labour and Employment mocked the protesters as he uploaded their picture on social media.
He wrote on the picture: “This is what ‘shutting down’ Washington by a group of Peter Obi’s supporters look like in protest of their ‘stolen mandate.”
