3 Inspiring Speeches Delivered At APC Primary & 3 People Who Bored The Audience With Theirs

It was a night of drama, intrigue and suspense that can never be forgotten in a jiffy as far as Nigerian politics is concerned.

After weeks of postponement, delays and dribbling, the ruling All Progressive Congress staged its presidential primary at the Eagles Square in Abuja with 14 aspirants heading into the contest.

However, the real election didn’t begin until each of the aspirant was asked to present their manifestos and convince the delegates on why they should vote them as party Flagbearer in the 2023 general election.

Here are the three aspirants who delivered the most inspiring speeches and those whose speeches were nothing to write home about at the venue.

The first of them is Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the vice president who also doubled as one of the leading presidential aspirants of the party.

As an intellectual pugilist, Osinbajo demonstrated his oratory prowess. He began his speech in a poetic approach, unearth the myriad of challenges the country is facing and explained why it should be tackled headlong.

His speech was seasoned with intellectual ingredients, expository analysis and audacity of hope for the common man. Osinbajo’s speech really made long night worthy of the wait.

The second aspirant with an inspiring presentation was Rochas Okaracha. The former governor of Imo State spoke in glowing terms of his giant stides before, during and after his tenure in office.

He was able to prove with facts that he had been made before becoming a governor. He explained how his experiences as a Lawyer, Governor and senator will transform him into one of the best president Nigerians will ever have if elected. His speech really made the night.

Lastly, Pastor Tunde Bakare gave a speech that appealed to the minds. Bakare who confirmed he didn’t travel round the country to meet with delegates said his mission is to digitalize the system of doing things in Nigeria.

He confirmed that he had sent messages to delegates across the country. As a radical preacher, Bakare gave a lucid display of his pulpit experience and oratory prowess on Tuesday night.

In the same vein, there were other aspirants whose speeches were enough to send people away from either the venue or TV screen.

One of them is Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state. Governor Bello spent the better part of his alloted time to recognize all the dignitaries at the venue.

He also spent another time to pay a special respect to the people who lost their lives in Owo attack. And by the time he eventually began his speech, he was told he had just 5 minutes to go. Nothing much was picked from his manifesto.

The second person on the list is the only female aspirant among them, Mrs. Uju Ohaneye. She mounted the podium with swag but only to bungle it with boring speech.

She noted that she wanted to change the narratives as a woman but looking at the whole scenario, she realized women are not yet prepared for the contest. She dampled the morale of her womenfolks and shattered their hopes in her aspiration.

After about five minutes of aimless parabulation, she announced her withdrawal from the race and declared support for Bola Tinubu.

Lastly, Chief Emeka Ikeobasi Mokelu was quite uninspiring at the venue. From start to finish of the speech, he was sing-praising president Buhari. For him, it was all about the president and nothing more.

He practically reeled out his biography from the day he started primary school till he became president of Nigeria.Nothing to pick out from his speech.

In my opinion, his decision to obtain the party’s 100 million naira nomination form was a deservice to himself and the entire Nigerians.
