What Peter Obi Campaign DG Said On The Possibility Of Forming Alliance With Other Political Parties
Doyin Okupe, the campaign Director General of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Dr. Peter Obi has expressed the possibility of forming an alliance with other political parties in order to come out stronger in the forthcoming general election.
Obi who is currently running under the platform of the Labour Party is regarded as one of the strongest third force capable of matching the PDP and APC presidential candidates in the election.
Obi is believed to be widely accepted and promoted by the Youths based on his grasp of ideas on what the country needs to get out of the current economic mess and move to the next level.
However, he is running under a platform that seems to be relatively limited in terms of national reach and viable structure that can win a presidential election.
At the moment, Labour party has no electoral officer anywhere in the country. Not even a councilor and this appears to be the major argument against the party ahead of 2023.
For the past few days, there has been rumour about the possibility of Peter Obi forming alliance with the likes of Kwakwanso and other bigwigs across the country so as to wrestle power from the the ruling APC and also silent the roaring PDP which is the strongest opposition party in the country.
Speaking on the speculation, Dr. Doyin Okupe said there is nothing wrong in forming alliance with other parties if it has to do with winning the 2023 general election.
Okupe said Peter Obi is ready to do anything in the interest of the country to ensure he comes out successfully in the election. If merging with other parties is the solution to the problem and the only way to get APC out of power, so be it.
Doyin Okupe stated this while speaking to vanguard Newspaper on Saturday.
