Atiku Is The Most Investigated Politician In Nigeria But Nothing To Establish Against Him- Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, a former media aide to ex-president Dr Goodluck Jonathan, has made a spirited attempt to set the record straight on the speculations that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party is a corrupt politician.

Abubakar, who was the vice president of Nigeria under the administration of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, is believed to be having baggages on his neck that will be used against him by his opponents during the 2023 electioneering campaign.

There has been rumours about him not being able to travel to the US due to the corruption allegation against him. Just like it was in 2019, many Nigerians have been digging into his past as vice president since he emerged as the PDP Flag bearer for 2023.

However, his loyalist and one of the ardent believer of his gospel, Reno Omokri, defended him on live TV on Monday saying Atiku is cleaned and cleared of any corruption allegation.

When he was specifically asked about the several allegations being levelled against him by the former president Olusegun Obasanjo about how he mismanaged several billions of naira during their administration, Omokri stated that it is not enough to raise allegation against anybody, it has to be proved in the court of law.

According to the social media critic and human right activist, the EFCC is the agency that has the power to invite Atiku for questioning. They have investigated him on several occasions and could not find anything incriminating against him.

As a matter of fact, Atiku is the most investigated politicians in Nigeria as at today but yet, they have not been able to establish anything against him.

How come it is only when he is contesting an election that they usually come up with allegation of corruption against him? Omokri asked.

He said whoever has any concrete evidence that he stole money while in office should write a letter to EFCC or go to court. But in a situation where there is no one to do that, he would consider such allegation as a mere blackmail and an attempt to rubbish his image.
