See eye-catching PHOTOS as Buhari swears in new CJN Ariwoola

Olukayode Ariwoola has been sworn in as the substantive chief justice of Nigeria (CJN) by president Muhammadu Buhari.

The swearing in ceremony took place at the state house, Abuja on Wednesday.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Ondo state governor Rotimi Akeredolu, and his Oyo state counterpart Seyi Makinde, were present at the event.

The senate had on September 21 confirmed Ariwoola’s appointment during plenary.

He is replacing Ibrahim Muhammad who resigned after 14 justices of the apex court accused him of abandoning his responsibilities as the leader of the court.
