Again, Tragedy Strikes In Ondo As Heavy Flood Sweeps Secondary School Student Away

It was a black Tuesday at the ancient town of Ikare Akoko as a student of Mount Carmel Girls School was swept away by flood around river Dada in Semusemu area of the town.

The sad incident which was coming barely two weeks after the massacre of over forty people in Catholic Church Owo was said to have been occasioned by heavy downpour.

Report had it that the girl was about playing with erosion when she puts her legs in it and she was carried away.

Confirming the unfortunate incident the divisional police officer DPO Ikare Akoko superintendent of police, SP Olatujoye Akinwande disclosed that the School Principal Mrs Ajoke Asiwaju reported the case to the division while search and rescue operation has commenced.

The DPO urged parents to caution children against playing while it rains.

The same River Dada has recorded two or three incidents in the past while similar happened to a Student of Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA) Akungba three years ago. All efforts to get her body proved abortive.
