I Didn’t Ask You To Go And Buy Ak-47 To Defend Yourself – Pastor Adeboye Tells RCCG Members

The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has set the record straight over the misconception of his sermon during the Friday Holy Night.

While delivering his message on the topic entitled: Complete in Jesus, the clergyman talked tough on the enemies of God’s people and asked God to consume them by fire if they refused to repent.

He also asked Christians to defend themselve with prayers and the word of God. He specifically asked that whoever can point out to anywhere in the Bible where God asked the people not to defend themselves, they should let him know.

The statement was however misconstrued and misconcepted in the media. Many news platforms reported it that Pastor Adeboye had told his congregation to embark on self-defence against their enemies.

Setting the record straight during the July edition of Monthly Thanksgiving, Daddy G.O as fondly called stated that he never asked anyone to go and carry AK-47 to defend themselves.

The man of God who ministered from Mount Carmel on the topic: “Made For the Top”, also warned the media to stop misquoting him on his stance against the killings and kidnapping going on in the country.

He revealed that the children of God who fought and defeated their enemies in the bible never carried AK-47 or pump action. But they all fought and won their battles through the name and word of God.

This is what pastor Adeboye meant when he said Christians should defend themselves.
