What Obasanjo Told The Youths While Riding And Picking Passengers In Abeokuta
It was a dramatic scene on Saturday when the former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo took the driver seat of tricycle popularly known as Maruwa and picked some passengers to their destinations for commercial purpose.
The 85 years old elderstatesman reportedly balanced himself behind the wheel as he rode through some popular roads in the state capital. Spectators who were in disbelief of his action took pictures of the former president during the process and they have been circulating it on social media.
The move was part of activities marking OBJ at 85 Free Keke programme of the Youths Development Center of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.
Speaking to the Youths during the ride, the former president encouraged them that despite the myriad of challenges confronting the nation, the Youths should seize the available opportunities to make an impact in the country.
He told them that things are not what they should be but youths, individually and collectively, must make contributions in order to make things the way they should be.
According to him, if they should leave things to those who are messing it up for them and those who are saying they are the leaders of tomorrow, they will never have that tomorrow.
He explained that God has given them in-built qualities to be whatever they want to be in life. If they make up their minds, God will help them and provide people who would help them as well.
Obasanjo stated this during the free ride at Abeokuta on Saturday.
