Oyetola Doesn’t Need To Litter The Town With Posters If He Has Performed Well- PDP Tackles APC In Osun

Ahead of Osun state Governorship election scheduled for next week, major political parties in the state have engaged in a war of word with allegations and counter-allegations against each other.

Notable in this scenario is the dominant parties in the state, the People’s Democratic Party and All Progressive Congress. Both parties have fielded the leading candidates who are hellbent on winning the election.

On Wednesday, representative of the two parties were on TVC Morning Show where they took each others up on varieties of issues that have constituted a political controversy in the state.

Representing the APC was the Senate spokesman, Ajibola Bashir while Diran Odeyemi stood for the PDP.

The APC spokesman has accused PDP of destroying its candidate, Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s posters and billbord across the state. According to him, the move was an attempt to render the APC governorship candidate unpopular before the electorates.

Senator Ajibola Bashir also knocked PDP of planning to cause crisis in the state, saying its candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke has vowed to cause violence and also promised to engage in vote buying during the election.

Responding to the allegations, the PDP Chieftains, Diran Odeyemi dispelled it as a blatant lie. He said how can a ruling party be shivering that an opposition party is theatening to unleash attack on the state? Are they no longer in charge of security?

Odeyemi said at no any time did the PDP Candidate make such a statement. On the issue of vote buying, he said PDP does not have such money to engage in vote buying. It is APC that is notorious for that.

Speaking on the destruction of Oyetola’s campaign billboard and posters across the state, the PDP Chieftain reminded the people of Osun that if Oyetola has performed as a governor, he wouldn’t need to be littering the state with campaign posters and billboards.

He noted that after over three years of being in the office, his achievements should be able to speak for him. While denying the allegation of billboard destruction, Odeyemi stated that it is a shame that a sitting governor has to result to billboards and posters to campaign to the electorates after over three years in office.

He said it is a show of poor performance and such a governor does not deserve to return to office for second term.

The heated conversation between the two politicians ensued during the Wednesday edition of TVC Morning Show.
