I’m A Distinguished Senator & You Should Address Me Like That- Osun Senator Tells PDP Chieftain

Senator Ajibola Bashir, the Senate spokesman and Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District has emphasized the reason he needs to be addressed as Senator and not just Bashir.

The senator expressed his disatisfaction at the way he was addressed by a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun while having a heated argument on the political activities of the two leading parties ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State.

Ajibola Bashir of the All Progressive Congress and Diran Odeyemi of the People’s Democratic Party have both appeared on the Wednesday edition of TVC Morning Show to set the record straight on accusations and counter accusation against both parties in the state.

The PDP had accused APC of using thugs to unleash terror at the palace of Osogbo Monarch on Tuesday when the state governor went to campaign at the area. The allegation was however denied by the senator.

Trouble started when  the PDP Chieftain directed the allegation at the senator saying he and other APC members were behind the attack. He specifically mentioned his name saying “Bashir” and others carried out the attack. Odeyemi didn’t remember to pefix the name with senator.

Angered by the outburst, senator Bashir reminded him he is a distinguished senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and he deserves to be respected and addressed that way.

He told him he is not just a lawyer but a Ph.D holder who has made his name and money before joining Politics.

The former Osun state Attorney general and Commissioner for Justice threatened he would not hesitate to take a legal action if the PDP Chieftain defames his character on live TV.
