We Keep Pumping Money On Security With No Result- Sen. Shehu Sani Decries Terrible State Of Security

A former Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has lamented the terrible state of security across the country.

The public analyst and opinion moulder spoke extensively on the issue of banditary and kidnapping that is going on in the country while granting an exclusive interview on the Friday edition of TVC Morning Show.

According to the Senator, the attack that happened on Tuesday night was not only carried out by the same terrorists group that attacked the Abuja-Kaduna Train, there was a trace of collaboration with ISWAP and ISIS.

Shehu Sani who gave detailed similarities and differences between the terrorists groups said the weapons used by those who attacked Kuje Prison in Abuja were too sophisticated for the kind of bandits that kidnapp people for money in Nigeria.

He explained that with the amount of money being spent on security by the Nigerian government, there is no reason Nigerians should be experiencing the kind of security challenges currently threatening the existence of the nation.

Shehu Sani said Nigeria keeps pumping money on security without any result for it. He lamented that what we basically lack is the political will to tackle the problem headlong.

According to him, there was a time the Minister of Finance disclosed during a press briefing that she had released about 1.3 thrillion naira to fight insecurity in Nigeria. But rather than being mitigated, the situation keeps deteriorating.

Shehu Sani cited the statement of late former head of States, General Sani Abacha who said if terrorists exist in a country for more than 48 hours, then it must have a link with the government.

He said for over 15 years, Nigerians have been fighting insecurity with billions of dollars pumped into the fight without any progress. The situation is simply getting worse by the day. It is because there is no political will to put a permanent end to the insurgency.

Shehu Sani stated this on the Friday edition of TVC Morning Show anchored by Yori Folarin.
