I Got The News While Visiting Children Orphaned By Boko Haram – Shettima Reacts To His Selection As Running Mate

 APC vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima has reacted to his selection by the party Flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Shettima was selected as running mate to Tinubu on Sunday.

Reacting to the development on Monday afternoon, Shettima wrote on social media; “Thank you for the trust Sir Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.

He has also met with Tinubu and both men hugged and shook hands.

Speaking further on his selection, the former Borno governor revealed that he was visiting children orphaned by Boko Haram in Borno when news of his selection broke.

“Prior to the official announcement of my nomination as the running mate to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu my intention was to visit 2 orphanages in Maiduguri (the Abdulateef Zabadne Orphanage Foundation and the Future Assured College) to celebrate with the orphans in the spirit of the sallah festival.”

“In fact, the announcement came in while I was mingling and trying to put a smile on the faces of the kids who mostly became orphans as a result of Boko Haram insurgency.”
