President of the United States, Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19.

This was made known in a statement by the White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday.

The statement further reveals that the US President is said to be experiencing mild symptoms.

This happens to be the first time Biden is testing positive for the deadly COVID-19, despite the fact that he has been fully vaccinated with a booster jab added to it.

Jean-Pierre says that the president tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday morning.

“He has begun taking Paxlovid. Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time,” she said.

White House’s coronavirus coordinator, Dr. Ashish Jha told CNN that Biden had a runny nose, dry cough and is experiencing some fatigue.

While the president tested positive, his wife Jill tested negative, but she admitted that her husband was doing well when she spoke with him few minutes ago.
