What Atiku Said When Asked Why He Is Persistent To Rule Nigeria Despite Losing The Presidential Race 4 Times 

If there is any Nigerian who giving up on something cannot be found in his dictionary, it is the former vice president of Nigeria and the current presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

By 2023, Atiku would be running to be president of Nigeria for the fifth time. After his first attempt in 1992 when he contested the SDP presidential primary against MKO Abiola and lost, he piped down his ambition till 1999 when he was chosen as vice presidential candidate to chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

He was in office for eight years as vice president of Nigeria. In 2011, 2015 and 2019, he contested presidential elections and lost in each of the contest.

In 2023, the Adamawa born politician will be having his name on the ballot for the fifth time and he is eagerly hopeful to come out triumphantly at the end of the contest that is expected to be three horse race.

Speaking on why he insists on presiding over the country despite the myriad of challenges confronting the nation at the moment, Atiku Abubakar said his decision to govern Nigeria is borne out of his passion for the country.

The former vice president who spoke during an exclusive interview with Arise News which was broadcast on Friday said it has been his ultimate desire to give back to the society that made him whom he is today.

Atiku Abubakar described the current situation Nigeria is facing as pathetic and there is no reason we should be in this mess if there were to be right people in leadership of the country.

He however sees himself as the only competent person that can manage the affairs of the country effectively and that is why he should be given the opportunity to rule the country in just one term. 

He promised Nigerians will see the difference.
