Fani-Kayode Speaks On Defection From APC To Another Party

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to his rumoured dumping of the ruling party for another political party.

The news went viral on social media earlier on Monday that FFK as fondly called has dumped the ruling APC for another party.

While many Nigerians were said to have attributed the move to the decision of the party’s presidential candidate to settle for Kashim Shettima as running mate against the popular choice of the party, others belived that it was because of the level of insecurity and bad policy of the APC- led federal government.

However, the former PDP Chieftain has dismissed the news of his defection as outright fake. Fani Kayode made this known on his Twitter page on Monday afternoon.

According to him, reports that he has left APC for another party are not true. He noted that any announcement that does not emanate from him or his verified social media handle is fake and should be dismissed.

FFK defected from the opposition People’s Democratic Party last year to the ruling APC after his many verbal assault and condemnation of the All Progressive Congress.

He had once described the party as blood infested political party and said he would rather die than join them.

The statement and several others which were initially made by him forced many Nigerians to question his integrity and political philosophy when he announced last year of his membership of the same APC which he had once condemned.

His recent reaction to the rumoured defection to another party has however set the record straight that he is actually still in APC for now.
