I Didn’t Pick The Character Called Suliah, I Picked Funke Akindele-Jandoh Justifies Choice Of Running Mate

While many Lagosians have continued to criticize the emergence of Nollywood Actress, Funke Akindele as deputy Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Lagos, the party standard bearer, Olajide Adediran has insisted she is the right person for the job.

The argument against Akindele’s selection has to do with her acting profession and controversies surrounding her recent broken marriage to JJC Skillz.

Many Lagosians are of the opinion that being a successful actress cannot translate her to a competent leader in the capacity of deputy governor of a mega state like Lagos.

They also believe that the controversy about her marriage will be used against her by the opposition party which may possibly deny them the chance to win the election in 2023. They argued that the duo will turn Alausa Governor office to a entertainment center.

Responding to this speculation while featuring on Wednesday edition of Arise TV Morning Show, Adediran disclosed that he has a good reason for settling for Funke Akindele as his Deputy.

According to him, there is different between Sulia of the Jennifer movie and the person he picked as his running mate. He explained that he chose Funke Akindele and not Sulia.

He described the actress as a brilliant fellow who has a lot to offer in the quest to winning the Lagos state Governorship election in 2023. She also has what it takes to bring about a good governance in Lagos.

He said their primary target is to lift as many youth as possible out of poverty and make Lagos a place everyone is dreaming of.

Adediran stated this on Wednesday while featuring on Arise TV Morning Show.
