Tinubu Told Me He Won’t Leave Politics Until He Sees Atiku Become Nigeria’s President- PDP Chieftain, Ejifor Onyia

A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, Chief Ejifor Onyia has opened up on some issues between him and the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

The elderstatesman was on Arise TV Morning Show on Tuesday where he spoke on the lingering disagreement between Tinubu and Atiku and how the two heavyweight politicians can mend their broken walls.

Chief Ejifor who was part of the formation and merger of the defunct ACN, AD and ADC identified those people who made the alliance possible in 2007. He also spoke on how Atiku emerged as the presidential candidate of the party in 2007 but was not supported by Tinubu.

While answering questions on Arise TV, he confirmed that Tinubu and Atiku are his close allies and he holds the two presidential candidates in high esteem.

Asked whom he is supporting and whom he feels is more qualified for the top job between the two of them since they are his friends, Chief Ejifor gave a controversial response to the question.

He explained that the two presidential candidates who are his friends are both qualified for the job but he could remember when Tinubu personally told him that he would not leave Politics until he sees Atiku becoming president of Nigeria.

Tinubu according to him said this during a meeting with their late leader, Shehu Musa.

He therefore expects the former governor of Lagos to stick to that promise and support Atiku Abubakar this time. He also argued that Atiku has already advanced in age than Tinubu and he is probably going to do just a term as president.

If Atiku completed his term in office, Tinubu can contest and he is sure if he contests, he will win the election after Atiku’s tenure.

Chief Ejifor stated this on Arise TV Morning Show on Tuesday.
