How S/Eagles Striker Netted An Historic Goal For Nothingham Forest After 23 Years Of Premier League Absence

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi has registered his name on list of goals scorers for Nothingham Forest in the premier league.

The newly promoted championship team had a crunch encounter with senior rival, West Ham United on Sunday. The match with West Ham United is the second premier league game for the newcomer this season.

Their first game of the season with Newcastle United ended in disappointment as they succumbed to 2 goals to nil in the aways game.

Their second game with West Ham on Sunday gave the ex-championship leader some great performance as they dominated the first half of the game with several goals chances that were missed.

At exactly 46 minutes, Taiwo Awoniyi changed the narrative for the home team. He produced his first goal of the season and also the first Premier League goal for his side after 23 years of being relegated to the lower league.

Taiwo Awoniyi joined Nothingham Forest from Union Berlin this season after emerging as one of the top scorers in the Bundesliga league last season.

The first goal for his new team has automatically earned him a sterling record as the player to get the first goal for the London team after 23 years of being out of Premier League football.

West Ham United struggled in the match with several clear chances to earn three points from the match but missed.

Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal eventually made the only goal of the game which gave the home team the all important three points.
