Evacuating Nigerians In Sudan Is Risky At This Time- Abike Dabiri

The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa has revealed the danger in evacuating Nigerians who are stranded in Sudan at this time.

Dabiri stated that the tensed situation in the country makes it difficult to carry out any evacuations.

According to her, Aircrafts parked at the Airport in the country were burnt on Thursday morning.

In a statement by Gabriel Odu, Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, NIDCOM, Dabiri-Erewa explained that Humanitarian Groups are seeking ways of getting food, water and medicals across to people.

She therefore appealed to the fighting Parties to consider the Juba Peace Agreement enunciated by Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), as fundamental mechanism for the restoration of peace and tranquility in the country.
