Senator Shehu Sani blasts Northern Governors supporting open grazing

A former senator who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani has carpeted Northern Governors who are in support of open grazing in the southern part of the country.

In a tweet on his official handle on Tuesday, Senator Sani said the North covers 70% of Nigeria’s land mass, adding that there is enough space up North for those who subscribe to the “obsolete idea of open grazing.”

He also berated some Northern Governors for their lack of creativity saying, “Northern Governors should be creative in harnessing this wealth to a multi-billion dollar Beef, Milk, Cheese and Leather industry.”

In another development, Sani advised Nigerians not to get too excited about the principle of rotatory presidency as recently agreed and canvassed by Governors from Southern Nigeria.

He said, “Don’t die because of public statements by the political class on the rotation of power. The compass of where power shifts is determined by the plots, betrayers and Horse trading on the night of the primaries of political parties.”
