Head coach of Nigeria national U-17 side, Fatai Amoo has stated clearly that he is not losing any sleep over his recent appointment as Golden Eaglets coach.
In an interview with Roving Naija, the former Julius Berger head coach said he is tactically equipped to deliver the desired results that is expected of him.
The former 3SC gaffer said he is not unaware of the fact that most critics are not giving him any chances of joining the long lists of successful Golden Eaglets coaches, but assured that he is bent on proving his critics wrong.
He maintained that only the best players will be scouted to represent Nigeria in the U-17 category, adding that efforts are in top gear to engage services of top scouts that will comb for grassroots players from the country’s six geo-political zones before the final screening in Abuja.
“I’m not under any undue pressure as Golden Eaglets coach. The pressure is the same all over the world but I’m equal to the task.
“My responsibility is to get the best players to represent Nigeria. We will do our best to engage some of our colleagues to help out with the scouting programs.
“I have experienced assistants who are vast with youth football too. Besides, my work experience with the national team over the years are added advantage to my quest to raise a formidable Eaglets.
“I know nobody is giving us any chance to succeed but we still need the supports of Nigerians to achieve our goal,” he said.
