Tinubu’s Ministerial List: Nigerians Attack Wike With Old Video Where He Said: “Joining APC Is Like Leaving Malaria For Cancer”

Since the announcement of former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike as a ministerial nominee by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigerians have trooped to social media to lay bare their minds on the development.

President Tinubu, in the list sent to the Senate on Thursday, nominated Wike as a Minister designate from Rivers, the nomination which has continued to generate mixed reactions from many Nigerians.

While trolling the former Governor, netizens shared an old video of him where he said he can’t work with the APC, as doing so would mean he left Malaria (his current party – the PDP), for Cancer – the APC.

In the video, Wike was heard saying he could not work under Tinubu’s administration, describing APC as a Cancer.

It is not however clear if Wike would accept to work with the APC.

Wike openly worked for Mr Tinubu to emerge as President, after he queried his party’s choice of presidential candidate in the last general election where Atiku Abubakar was fielded as PDP presidential candidate.

His argument was that a northerner (Atiku) cannot succeed another northerner (Buhari), after the latter had spent 8 years in a country that is divided along north and south.

Wike alongside other 4 Governors of the PDP tagged G5 worked for the APC candidate, Tinubu in the last presidential election held in February, 2023.
