Can You Travel From Abuja To Kaduna Without Reading Your Bible Or Quran?- Sani Yagba Asks

Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Sani Yagba has given reasons the 2023 Presidential Election might not be feasible if things continue the way it are going.

The politician raised this alarm while featuring on the Tuesday edition of Channels TV Politics Today which was anchored by Seun Okinbaloye.

Yagba was reacting to the disturbing rate of insecurity that has held the nation in the jugular.

Recalled that INEC had consistently assured Nigerians that 2023 election will take place irrespective of the level of insecurity plaguing the country. Also, the Nigerian security Agencies have consistently emphasized their resolve to decisively deal with troublers of the country before the election and promised to make Nigeria secured before 2023.

Asked if he sees any hope of bringing insecurity to the barest minimum before the elections, the ADC presidential candidate believes that it is a dream that may only remain an imagination before and after the elections.

According to him, there is no sign that things will take a normal shape before that time. He is hopeful that Nigerian Army, police and other security agencies will try their best but he expressed fears that bandits and other terrorists have been allowed to penetrate deeply into the system before taking steps to fight them.

He said today, no one can move freely across the country. Every part of the country is under siege and nowhere is safe. If the home state of the sitting president has been under immense attack and nothing is done by the president to arrest the situation, what then are we saying about other states?

He asked the anchor, Seun Okinbaloye if he could travel from Abuja to Kaduna without reading his Bible or Quran like six to seven times before getting there? And after getting there, your family will still have to be calling you to know if you arrive safely, he said.

The presidential hopeful explained that if the Northern governors have taken the same step Governor Akeredolu took over insecurity in the southwest, Nigeria would not have been where it is today.

He is of the opinion that the failure of the Northern governors to secure their region is what led to the current high rate of insecurity in the country.

He stated this on Channel’s TV Politics Today on Tuesday.
