Police Debunks Kidnap Of 20 People On Kara Bridge
The Ogun State Police Command, on Tuesday, debunked the news-making the round on social media that about 20 people were kidnapped on Kara Bridge along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement, described the news as fake.
Oyeyemi in his words said: “There is nothing like the kidnapping of one, let alone 20 persons at the Kara bridge or anywhere along Lagos- Ibadan expressway.
“The attention of Ogun State Police Command has been drawn to news circulating on social media that 20 people were kidnapped by bandits on Kara Bridge along Lagos/Ibadan expressway”, he said.
He further added that, “To dispel the wicked rumour which is capable of causing panic in the mind of the public, the command wishes to inform the public that the said news is nothing but fake and lies from the pit of hell.
“Because of the road construction work going on in that axis, the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered 24-hour surveillance patrol of the area to checkmate the activities of hoodlums who might want to take advantage of the traffic jams to perpetrate evils.”, Oyeyemi said.
