UNBELIEVABLE! After Resigning, Akeredolu’s Commissioner Applies To Return As Civil Servant

Former Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing in Ondo state, Raimi Olayiwola Aminu, has indicated his desire to return to the state civil service.

Aminu was a member of staff of the state Ministry of Works before he was appointed into the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu government.

He joined Ondo State Civil Service on March 12, 2002 as civil engineer II.

During the first term of Akeredolu in 2017, Aminu was appointed as Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Infrastructure and later appointed as Special Adviser on Lands, Works and Infrastructure.

The late former governor re-appointed him as Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing in 2021, during his second term in office.

Shortly after the passing of Akeredolu in December last year and the subsequent swearing-in of Lucky Aiyedatiwa as governor, Aminu tendered his resignation, citing loyalty to Aketi as his reason.

The former Commissioner said his decision was guided by his conscience following the demise of Akeredolu.

However, sources in the Ministry of Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing disclosed that Aminu had applied to return to the ministry as a director.

“After his resignation as commissioner, Aminu has written to the ministry about his intention to return. He was a civil servant when he was appointed into the government of Akeredolu. He has the right to return to the service,” a source said.
