Novel: Ondo Fed. Lawmaker Plans Bill To Review President’s Tenure To 6 or 8-Years Single Term
A member of the Federal House of Representatives, Honorable Tajudeen Adefisoye has promised to work on a legislative bill that will review the present tenure of the president from four years single term to six or eight years.
The federal Lawmaker who is currently representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency in Ondo State made this disclosure on his verified twitter handle on Friday afternoon.
According to him, Politics is the main factor hindering the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria. He noted that so many developments would have been recorded in the country if not for the way everything is politicized by the Politicians.
He therefore believes that if the sitting president has enough time to spend in the office, so many projects would be completed and there won’t be much abandoned projects by the time such a president is leaving the office.
Honorable Tajudeen however revealed that he will be working on a bill to review the tenure of a President to 6 or 8 years single-tenure as this present 4-year renewable tenure is not helping our development as a country.
Adefisoye is one of the popular members of the federal house of representatives for being the youngest among his colleagues.
The then Social Democratic Party’s candidate won his election in 2019 at the age of 34 after defeating his closest rival from the People’s Democratic Party, Kayode Akinmade who is the former commissioner for information of Ondo State.
Honorable Tajudeen has since defected to the All Progressive Congress where he had already picked the ticket to recontest in 2023 general election.
