Suits On Sneakers? Nigerians Mock Shettima’s Dress Code At NBA Conference As Tinubu Stays Away

The presence of vice presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Senator Kashim Shettima has overshadowed the ongoing conference of the Nigeria Bar Association with a dress code which many Nigerians described as outrageous.

The Legal Profession is holding its 2022 Annual General Meeting at the Eko Hotel and Suites which was witnessed by top politicians including some of the leading presidential candidates for 2023 general election.

While Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party were present, Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress was conspicuously absent. He was represented by his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

However, Shettima’s manner of dress has been a subject of discussion since he was captured by camera and posted on social media.

The 2022 NBA AGM is themed “Bold Transitions” and its General Conference is expected to hold between August 19 to 26, with the opening ceremony happening Monday.

Shettima who was dressed in a three-button black suit, also wore a red tie which he paired with sneakers shoes.

Nigerians on Twitter found his dressing too old fashioned and his mean looks too serious.

Chude noted that Tinubu’s absence shows he’s just a place holder for Shettima.

The absence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu was also talked about, as many said his house is not too far from the venue of the conference and therefore he had no reason to miss it.

Tinubu can attend functions like burial, weddings, visiting obasanjo and other apc governors but becomes afraid when it’s time to attend conferences to tell Nigerians Y he wants to become a president.
