This Time Is Perilous, Needs Prayer – APGA Chair Declares 3-Day Fasting Over Death Of Lawmaker In South Africa

The National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Victor Oye has instructed the people of Anambra and especially members of the party to embark on three days fasting and prayer in the state.

The political leader made this statement in a swift response to the death of two lawmakers in the state within a space of two months.

The latest of them is the death of Honorable Nnamdi Okafor the majority leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly.

Okafor reportedly died on Wednesday at an undisclosed  hotel in South Africa. He was said to have slumped and died shortly after checking into the lodge.

His death has continued to raise questions not only in the state but also across the country. He would be the second sitting lawmaker to have died in the state within the space of two months.

Worried by the development, the ruling party chairman in a statement issued on Thursday commiserated with the lawmaker’s family, his constituency members and the people of Anambra state over the sad incident.

He however called for three days fasting and prayer across the state especially among members of the party.

“The times in which we have found ourselves are perilous and call for constant prayer, self-examination and penance. The leadership of the Anambra House of Assembly should join in the prayer and fasting, I see God doing something new in the house soon,” he said.

The party chairman also commiserated with Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, Speaker Uche Okafor and lawmakers at the assembly over the sudden death of the majority leader.
