COSON Chairman, Tony Okoroji To Make Nationwide Broadcast On Nigeria’s Creative Industry
Barring any unexpected development, the Chairman of the Copyright Society of Nigeria, COSON, Chief Tony Okoroji will make a nationwide broadcast on Thursday September 1st.
In a statement released by the association recently, the nationwide broadcast is expected to reflect on Nigeria’s creative industry in the context of a country that appears to be caught in a paralysis.
With the theme, Music In A Society On The Road To Socio-Political Revolution, the broadcast will dissect the potentials and predicaments of the Nigeria creative industry and the key role all creatives and professionals in Nigeria must urgently play to save the nation from going down the abyss.
The broadcast scheduled for 9am on Thursday will be transmitted from COSON office in Ikeja and it is expected to highlight the 2022 edition of “No Music Day”.
It has also been confirmed that the broadcast will be carried by most major broadcast stations and streamed on several internet platforms around the world.
While music will be the point of contact, the broadcast will deal with the violation of the rights of authors, publishers, actors, movie producers, photographers, architects, computer programmers, visual artists and designers of all types and indeed, the violation of the rights of all Nigerians and the dangerous damage this has done to the Nigerian nation.
Consequently, the association has invited all Nigerian artistes as well as those interested in the future of the Nigerian creative industries and patriotic citizens to tune in and contribute to the discussions that will follow on different platforms.
