PHOTOS: Ikeja Youths Defy Rain To Stage 100,000-Man March For Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, Faleke
It was one Saturday with a show of commitment to a worthy course as the Youths in Ikeja defy the rain and participated in the much-awaited 100,000-Man-Walk for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Babajide Sanwoolu and Abiodun Faleke in preparation for next year’s general elections.
The walk organized by the Coalition of Youths within Ikeja Federal Constituency and tagged “100,000 Man Walk for Tinubu, Sanwoolu, Faleke was aimed at sensitizing the Youths of Ikeja and getting them ready for the forthcoming elections.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the All Progressive Congress {APC}, Presidential Candidate, while Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu is seeking a second term as the governor of Lagos State and Rt. Hon James Abiodun Faleke, is seeking to return to the Federal House of Representatives for the Ikeja Federal Constituency.
The 100,000-Man walk took off under the Ikeja bridge at exactly 9.00 am after the distribution of souvenirs to the participants, passing through Allen roundabout to Opebi linking Ojota link bridge to Kudirat Abiola way, down to Awolowo way, to Lateef Jakande, Agindingbi and terminating at Omole roundabout at around few minutes past 12pm.
Notable personalities who took part in the walk include Hon Adedamola Richard Kasunmu {ARK}, representing Ikeja Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, also seeking a third term, as well as the incumbent Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, Hon Oladotun Olakanle and other APC Chieftains within Ikeja LGC, Onigbongbo and Ojodu LCDAs.
In an interview with some Journalists at the venue, Hon. Richard Adedamola Kasunmu said he was highly impressed with the turn out by the youths in Ikeja. He noted that it shows that they are fully ready for the elections.
He further stated that though the Campaign is yet to start, he urged them not to relent in their efforts, saying that it is the essence of the Coalition and promised that it will continue to mobilize more and more youths as well as both old men and women to woo more supporters and participation in the forthcoming general elections next year.
Speaking in the same vein, the spokesman, for the Coalition movement, Mr Olalekan Oni also expressed satisfaction with the turnout by the youths. He said considering the achievements of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was the executive governor of Lagos State, if given the chance, he will definitely transform the economy of this country.
