Emiefele Remains CBN Gov.- Top CBN Official Debunks Sack Rumour

Early on Wednesday, the rumour was rife that president Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the CBN Governor, Godwin Emiefele.

The rumoured sack was said to have been connected to the controversies that trailed his alleged presidential ambition and political participation.

Contrary to the trending story which has gone viral on social media, a very reliable source from the Central Bank media desk has stated that Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the CBN governor is still very much active in his lofty office.

This was disclosed to daily Independent by a very senior officer in the media department of the nation’s Apex Bank who debunked the rumour in its entirety.
