You Have No Moral Right To Claim That You Founded PDP- Wike Bombs Ayu

The war of words between the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Iyorchia Ayu is gradually tilting towards an unmanageable spectacle that may consequently signal the failure of the party even before the next general elections.

On Friday, Wike practically called out Ayu to do the needful while giving a speech at an event held in Port Harcourt.

Wike, while referencing how the chairman described him and his cohorts as children and boys said if PDP and Ayu want to lose the 2023 election, he (Wike) can help them achieve that.

He noted that Iyorchia Ayu claimed that he was a founding member of the PDP but he reminded him how he left the party in 2007 while people like him (Wike) and others waited to build the party to what it is today.

The Rivers State governor told the chairman that he has no moral right to sit in his house and be claiming that he founded PDP. 

Wike has before now insisted that the National Chairman of the party should resign his position following the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as presidential candidate of the party.

Ayu was said to have refused to step down saying he was elected for a period of four years and he must complete his tenure.

One of the conditions Wike was said to have given the presidential candidate of the party is to make Ayu relinquish his chairmanship position in order to give room for a southerner to take over.

The internal crisis despite all attempts by party stakeholders to resolve it, is gradually degenerating into something many believe would cripple the chance of the party in winning the 2023 elections.
