JUST IN: APC chairman removed, another takes over

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Adamawa state, Ibrahim Bilal, has been removed.

RovingNaija learnt that Bilal’s deputy, Samaila Tadawas, was immediately sworn in as the acting chairman.

25 members of the state executive committee of the APC took the decision to impeach Bilal on Monday.

They cited “gross abuse, corruption, and dereliction of duty” for their opposition.

Politics Nigeria says the plot against Bilal is the fallout of the party’s governorship primary election in the state held in May, whereby some aspirants, perceived to have lost the primary election, are still hoping that there will be a re-run and the party’s chairman loyalty is under question.
