The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and his amiable wife, Folu Adeboye are celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary with what seems to be a poetic narrative on social media.

Daddy GO as fondly called took to his verified Instagram handle on Thursday to reveal how the journey with his wife started exactly 55 years ago and how it is going presently.

According to the influential clergyman, he was the poorest of all the prospective suitors coming to seek the hand of his wife in marriage as at that time. Adeboye noted that she turned them down and decided to settle for him who was then a nobody compared to those who were jostling to secure her heart.

Pastor Adeboye wrote: “Pastor Folu Adeboye, the woman who has suffered with me, she stood by me when we had nothing.

“I was the poorest and the least known of all the men after her 55yrs ago. But she left all those who were famous, well to do and she picked me. Thank God.
