Reason 96- Gun Salute Was Fired For Late Queen Elizabeth II In The UK

The death of Queen Elizabeth II has created several waves of dramatic scenes in England. 

The longest reigning monarch passed away on Thursday at the age of 96 years.

She had reigned for 70 years, making her the longest serving Monarch in the Buckingham Palace.

Since the news of her death hit the public domain, tributes and condolences have been pouring in from world leaders across the world.

On Thursday, 96-gun salute was fired in her honour.

The gun salute is was fired at Colchester & East Essex Cricket Club in honour of the late Queen of England.

According to the report, each of the gunshots represents each year she spent on earth. And in total, she spent 96 years which made the total gunshots fired to be 96.

This was said to be part of preliminary activities that prelude the proper burial ceremony.
